As the walls close in on Trump, his Foundation is subjected to the corporate death penalty, his thieving kids are punished, his cronies go to jail, his crime syndicate, subjected to 17 investigation, his stupid wall unfunded, and his promised shutdown collapses like a house of cards, only one demographic could be stupid enough to keep standing with him: good white conservative Christians, who have been wrong about everything and who have pigheadedly refused to learn anything from it. Case in point:
Farmers have been hard hit in the Midwest because of the tariffs on grain and soybeans (they lost 98% of their business to China this year), and yet, according to a Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom Iowa poll released this week:
Trump has an 81 percent approval rating among registered Republicans in Iowa.
Sixty-seven percent say they would definitely vote to re-elect Trump if the election were held today.
This is how you act when it is more important to you to punish the brown and the poor than to see your own family be happy and prosper. This is not only the backbone of Trumpism, but of the support for vile racist (and good white Catholic) Steve King.
It’s like the Russian peasant who was visited by an angel promising him whatever he wanted and warning that, whatever he wished for, his worst enemy would get twice as much.
“Gouge out one of my eyes and beat me half to death,” said the peasant.
The difference is, the brown and poor are not the enemies of Steve King’s base of stupid, self-destructive racists. They have nothing against this dumb mob of malignant suckers. The animus is 100% the responsibility of the dumb mob, not their victims.
