My initial response on the Book of Face was, “What happened to you, man?”
The next day, somebody forwarded me this tweet:
This child died next to a toilet, alone, in a Border Patrol facility.
There should have been high-level firings over this, but there were none. Not even a statement of remorse from the president, because he felt none.
We are a disgrace. https://t.co/xelZEIBQHT

All I could think of was Coffin’s callous tweet, which not only dismissed the suffering at the border, but which suggested those standing up for the children there must be abortion supporters.
So I posted the tweet with the following comment:
Another child death for Patrick Coffin to laugh off as he sneers at protesters and lies that they don’t care about the unborn too.
Priest readers: Could you please offer a Mass for this little one and for all the people who are sick, traumatized and dying at the border because of the sadism of this anti-christ Cult? Thanks!
What I did not know is that Patrick has himself lost a child. Some readers took me as referencing that. I was not. I was referencing his tweet. My deepest condolences to Patrick and his family for their personal tragedy. I hope that in the future, the pain of their loss will help him show some empathy for the families at the border who are likewise losing loved ones–including children–instead of mocking and baselessly smearing those who defend them.
