The crooks and liars at the top who enabled, lied for, and covered for–and who go on encouraging the private devotions to–that creep need to be unceremoniously wrenched from their positions and sent to clean toilets. God help whoever is in charge of trying to re-tool that machine to do something besides what Maciel built it to do.

I suppose if the Church can re-tool the Roman Empire, it can handle this job over the long haul. We’ll see.
