Prayer Requests

A reader writes:

On Friday, my almost-three-year-old grandson, Jack, will have his fourth surgery. While the condition isn’t life-threatening, the stress on his parents as they worry about him, and the effect of so many surgeries on someone so young, is weighing heavily. We would appreciate prayers that he come through the operation and anesthesia well, and that the nurses and doctors be attentive to the need for a little guy to have his parents with him as soon as possible afterward. Jack was born on the feast of Our Lady of Guadeloupe and we immediately placed him under her protection.

Father, hear our prayer for a safe, successful, swift, painless and unscary surgery for your little one. Grant skill and compassion to his caregivers and peace, consolation, grace and strength to all who love him. Our Lady of Guadeloupe, pray for him and keep him under the mantle of your protection. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Another reader writes in desperation:

my husband lost his job in june due to illness and our income is my ssi because they cut my sons ssi off and i can only afford to pay my rent and nothing else. everything is about to be cut off and all the places that say they help with bills eigther say they are out of funds or that i have to pay half of my bill and that they will only pay fifty i cant even pay half. If i pay the bills i cant pay the rent and my family will be homeless. I have no where to turn and i am feeling so alone and very stressed i have a four yr old little girl and a twenty yr old son who is mentaly a child still and his check has been cut off without any notice or warning. i cant handel this it’s to much for me to bear.

Father, hear our prayer for this family in desperate straits. Give them the provision they need and help this woman’s husband to find work swiftly. Grant them a miracle of your saving power through Christ our Lord. Put them in contact with sources of support in your Body, the Church. Mother Mary and St. Joseph the Worker, pray for them. We ask all this through Christ our Lord.
