If I recall correctly, you are in the Seattle area. Are you aware that the WA state legislature is having a hearing on a senate bill to push “marriage equality” in place of domestic partnerships? The hearing is planned for Mon Jan 23rd at 10am. Bill in question (SB 6239) was introduced on the 13th and read the 16th. Gov. Gregoire called for this type of legislation earlier in the month, so she sounds ready to sign it if passed. And it seems to have 23 of 25 Senators needed for passage in the Senate.
I just wanted to let you know in case you’re unaware of it–I know many people around me here in South Central WA have been surprised to hear this
is going on. It’s all very sudden. Since I didn’t see mention on your
blog, I wanted to make sure you knew, so you could spread the word in your communities on the West side. Monday could be a critical day for marriage in WA.
