They should pay him every nickel he asks for without contest. Then they should pay every nickel any other victim of Maciel demands. Then they should fire the upper leadership of the Legionaries (everybody who was close to Maciel and who facilitated his crimes(I’m guessing a fairly small circle of men)) and take all the money that would have been wasted on the salaries of these Happy Talk functionaries and give *that* to them as well. Then, they should make them go clean toilets for Nashville Dominican nuns, live as mendicants, and keep paying out of their savings and slush funds and bribe funds.
