Prayer Requests

A reader writes:

We just found out that our precious baby girl (now 17 weeks in the womb), Maria Isabella, has Spina Bifida. In the specific case of our precious princess, a part of her back never fully closed-up while she was in her earliest stages of development. This means that there is a small hole towards the bottom of her back which has exposed the spinal cord and also exposes her to danger from the amniotic fluids which can affect the brain as well as her nerves in the cord itself.

As of right now, we are praying for the opportunity to see a specialist in Philadelphia at CHOP, (Children’s Hospital of Philly) one out of 3 other sites in the USA where this surgery is done well.

We don’t know much more right now about what the next steps are….and trust me, we’ve been researching it for days….we are trusting in God and praying for a miracle…..but even more than that, praying that His Will be done in all of our lives. We feel so blessed to have been given such a gift from God….she has surely already begun sanctifying all of us….and SO MANY people are already praying for her.
So I thought I would ask you to beg your readers for prayers…

Please pray for her, she has a big mission in this world.

Please pray for us, that we might do all that we can as parents, with joy and trust.

Father, hear our prayer for this little child’s complete healing. Grant skill, wisdom and compassion to her caregivers, provision for all the money, and grace, peace, strength and, ultimately, joy to her and all who love her. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for her. We ask all this through Christ our Lord.

Lord God,
You are the Author of Life and Freedom.
In your Spirit, we have the freedom of the children of God,
And in your Name, we promote the freedom of all
To seek, embrace, and live the truth of your Word.

In that freedom, Lord, we your people stand with Life
And reject whatever destroys life
Or distorts the meaning of human sexuality.

In that freedom, Lord, we your people live our lives
In a way that advances your Kingdom of Life,
And we refuse to cooperate in what is evil.

At this moment, therefore, when our government has decided
To force us to cooperate in evil,
We pray for the grace to be faithful to you
And to oppose the unjust laws and mandates
That have been imposed upon us and our institutions.

We pray for the conversion of those in civil authority
Who fail to appreciate the demands of conscience.
We pray for the complete reversal of all policies
That permit the destruction of life
Or coerce the cooperation of your people
In practices that are wrong.

Bring us to a Culture of Life.

I am requesting prayers for my 6 month old niece, Lily. She had RSV, which developed into severe pneumonia in her right lung. She is now in a chemical coma and on a ventilator.

Prayers for my brother (her father) to return to the Church and get his children baptized would also be appreciated.

Father, we ask for this child’s complete healing in body, soul, and spirit, as well as wisdom, skill and compassion for her caregiver. We also ask that her father would return to the Church and see to her baptism and education in Christ. Give grace, comfort, and peace to my reader through the power of the Holy Spirit. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for all concerned. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
