Just got a call from the Puget Sound Blood Center. New Jersey called and they badly need blood and platelets after the storm. I’m on my way. If you can spare and hour or so, think about doing likewise. If you have type O, you are particularly needed since you are either a semi-universal donor (I can give to all positive blood types), or a universal donor (if you are O negative).
Your country needs you. Plus, its the only life-saving act that involves eating a cookie.
