A reader writes:
I told my wife on Saturday evening that I wanted to come into the Church this Easter. It was not a pleasant 4 hour discussion. She is very hurt, and saddened and has been in tears since then. While not as much as she, I am saddened too. It is very difficult between us right now.
My wife is a good woman, raised with awesome morals…her father is a pastor of a large church. She isn’t going to divorce or leave me, but this just difficult. I hate to see her so devastated. She is very concerned about the division between us in rearing our five children when we both have differing beliefs…I too am struggling with this.
While I yearn for the Church and the Sacraments (finally!) we need peace and harmony.
Perhaps you’ve been through this? I don’t know…please pray.
Father, I ask that as this man lives out his discipleship with integrity and deep love for you and for his wife, that her heart will be healed and she will see that your are more deeply present in his life than ever. We pray that you will bring healing and a deeper unity to this family through the cross of our Lord Jesus. Mother Mary, pray for this family and bring them all under your protective mantle. We as all this through Christ our Lord. Amen!
