Prayer Requests 2014-12-31T17:27:15-07:00

The wife of my old pastor, who has been suffering a number of neurological ailments, writes:

Merry Christmas to you guys! Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas! It’s really good to know that we’re still in your prayers, because we really need them! Prayer is often the only way to address certain issues. Right now, Jerry’s biggest battle is pain. He can’t take narcotics or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen, so the best option he has is Tylenol, which doesn’t even touch it. We’re hoping to find a medicine or a life style change or something that will help! Please pray that the Lord will lead us to an answer! Thanks!

Also, a reader writes:

Please pray for me and our troops in harm’s way– I’m joining the U.S. Army at age 39. Thank you.

And finally, a reader writes:

I normally don’t send these kinds of things out but this is kind of urgent so here it goes. A friend of mine at work shared some distressing news with me at work. He just found out that his wife has been talking to some other man on the computer and they were planning on meeting this week (it’s unclear whether or not they have already been meeting). On top of it his daughter is having some sort of health issue. He’s a good guy and a fairly solid Methodist from what I can tell and I hate to see something like this happen to him and his family, especially during Christmas. He’s been divorced before and fought to keep it together, so he is really discouraged right now. If you could pray, it would be greatly appreciated. There’s another thing as well, indirectly concerning another friend at work. I won’t share the details but let’s just call it a particularly special intention.

Father, hear our pray for help and healing in all these wounded lives through your Son Jesus Christ. Mother Mary, please pray for all involved in these difficult and challenging situations. St. Luke, please pray for healing for Jerry. St. Michael, defend this brave soldier in battle. St. Joseph, pray for the people in that troubled marriage.
