Speaking of All the News that Fits, Again

Here’s Abp Dolan on the bleedin’ obvious anti-Catholic bias of our newscritters: a fact made all the more blatant by the fact that the NY Times wouldn’t publish this.

Which reminds me: you probably heard about the Pope taking time out of his schedule to “condemn Halloween”, right? I mean, it’s gotta be true, doesn’t it? Everybody knows he’s a Nazi. Maureen Dowd said so. And so he must hate fun, right? After all, Real News Organs said so. The UK Telegraph announced, “Vatican condemns Hallowe’en as anti-Christian” and the Daily Mail informed us, “Halloween is ‘dangerous’ says the Pope as he slams ‘anti-Christian’ festival” So it’s all a settled fact the bishops, with Vatican backing are squirting their venom all over little kids who go trick or treating,right?

Well, not so much as you’d think. It turns out that some obscure Spanish priest who registered a mild dislike of Halloween is neither the Pope nor the Vatican.

But since when has remote interest in accuracy every gotten in the way of a good Catholic-bashing in the British (or American) press?
