With what seems like a constant barrage of negative junk going on around us, I wanted to share something wonderful from last night with your readers if you are so inclined.
I was privileged to witness one of my fellow parishioners become a Consecrated Virgin! It was an amazing and beautiful ceremony presided over by our Diocesan Bishop. To watch this lovely, humble and holy woman devote her life to our Lord Jesus Christ in this special way was truly inspiring.
This is an extremely rare event in the Church. From the last numbers I saw, there are less that 300 Consecrated Virgins in the United States and less than 3,000 worldwide. I myself did not know Consecrated Virgins existed in the Church until about 6 months ago. I mistakenly thought this was something from the pagan times of the Greeks and Romans. What a wonderful experience I will never forget.
Could we offer a prayer to this wonderful woman and to all the Consecrated Virgins of the world as a humble sign of our appreciation for their witness?
Now if I can only help my daughter understand how cool this is. My life might be much easier down the road……
Father, bless your daughter with all the riches of Christ! Thank you for her witness to us in Christ Jesus!
