A courageous reader who has suffered much writes to ask for prayer for his son 2015-01-01T14:56:11-07:00

Our child’s mental/psychological condition has continued to deteriorate over the past two months, so much so that we are about to leave for a hospital far from home to check him in for an extended stay. They tell us that the average stay is 7-10 days, but I suspect that we’re looking at 2-3 weeks. And since the hospital is 97 miles each way from our house (and only the last 20 miles are on Interstate highways), we’re facing either hellacious commutes or large expenses for a hotel. OBTW, visiting hours are only 1.5 hours at lunchtime and 1.5 hours at dinnertime.

Juggling the care of the four younger boys will be challenging, especially now that school is out for the summer.

Lots more to tell, but I’m feeling rather overwhelmed. Our child woke us at 0400
today with yelling. He was deathly frightened, telling us that he was confronted face to face with Satan, who spent the night tormenting him with his demons. Very chilling descriptions of what he saw, felt and tasted. God help him. And us. Lord Jesus, come! Mother Mary, protect us!

Father, hear the prayers and tears of this good man and his family for their son through your Son Jesus Christ. St. Michael, defend them in battle and cast into hell any evil spirits that may be at work in this affliction. Come Holy Spirit and put your healing oil in every wound.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, our mother; to thee do we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer us as we pray for lasting healing for this child and strength, hope, peace, and consolation for his family.

Amen.
