Last week I sent a prayer request for my classmate, Paul Coakley. Here is an update from today from his Facebook support page: Team Paul and Ann Coakley. Please keep up the prayers for a miracle and that God’s will be done. Thanks:
OK Team, the drs are losing hope, but they aren’t on this page seeing the army of prayer warriors who already know that either way this ends in victory. Paul here is a victory. Paul in heaven is a victory. In Christ we can’t lose! But I am human and I have always told Paul that I want to die in his arms when our great-grandbabies are here, so please continue to pray with me for his recovery, if its God’s Will. His oxygen is getting lower & his heart is racing faster. Fluid is building on his lungs & is acidic. We need to see an improvement! Pray & hope! Thank you for all you’ve done to bless & encourage us. Tears have been flowing everytime we look at this page & all of the pictures. Thank you for helping me stay strong! YOU are my heroes!!! Paul is a suffering soul right now & is offering up for you & your intentions
Father, hear our continuing prayer for Paul’s complete healing for his good, the good of all who love and need him, and the glory of your Name. Mother Mary, St. Luke, St. Margaret of Castello and St. Peregrine, pray for him. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Update: Paul has died. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. God grant all who love him, and especially his wife and children grace, strength, consolation, peace, faith, hope, and love through our Lord Jesus Christ. Mother Mary, welcome him home.

Please ask readers to pray for a old friend who just tried to kill himself in despair over the collapse of his marriage and the possibility of losing his job. He’s a long-lapsed Catholic.
Father, hear our prayer for the recovery of faith, hope, and love in this man’s life to the glory of your Name through our Lord Jesus Christ. Help him return to Jesus Christ and the bosom of the Church. Mother Mary, pray for him that he would choose life and find hope in Christ. Amen!

One of my coworkers died suddenly of a bacterial infection last week. He was only 34 and left behind two sons under the age of 4. I did not know him well, but I have heard through the grapevine that his wife was a stay-at-home mother, who must now find a way to raise these two sons on her own. Friends have set up a donation page–if anyone is able to help them out, I am sure the family would be very grateful for the support.
