with this letter. Meanwhile, Fr. Jenkins continues to give “lame Jesuitical casuistry” a bad name by explaining to the bishops that when they said it was bad to heap honors on rabidly pro-choice pols, what they *actually* meant was “rabidly pro-choice *Catholic* pols”. Obama’s not Catholic, so ND can heap as many honors as they like on him! No! Really! I eagerly await the establishment of the Joseph Mengele Endowed Chair for Excellence in Non-Catholic Scientific Methodologies (awarded each year... Read more

One of the staples of the paranoid reactionary Catholic circle is the Jewish conspiracy. One is constantly seeing from these people the terrible fear that the Jew is make hugely successful inroads into the Catholic Church, undermining everything, destroying all, virtually omipotent in his successful post-Vatican II campaign to corrupt and destroy the Church. Whenever some social movement bent on the destruction of the Church or the infliction of great evil on some basic human good arises, it is always going to be salted with true believers who manage to honestly convince themselves that, once the movement achieves the end they are hoping it will achieve, it was stop being toxically anti-Church or inimical to human good and just disband. So, for instance, the Commies assured us that the Comunist state would just “wither... Read more
