God Became One of US

God Became One of US December 23, 2018

For some, it is the outer edge of folly, and for others, it is the transcendent hope of our souls that the bread of heaven came down appeared and took on flesh and God became one of us. The enchantment of Christmas is the acknowledgment that the “Christ” child is “Immanuel” God with us. The baby born in Bethlehem is the eternal light of God and all the universe. (The day God lifted the lid off the sky!)

At the time of creation, the triune God proclaims, “Let us make man and woman in our image and likeness.” In Romans, the apostle Paul highlights the resurrection power which is the essence of God living in us without beginning and end that gives and sustains our life. It is the eternal hope that Gods plan in becoming a man is at the core of our being and nature.

The Son of Man dying on the cross was the scandal of the ages that revealed the love of God for our fallen race. You and I are members of that troubled race of people that God chose to dwell and shine through all eternity. If we could only comprehend that we possess the presence of the Eternal now in our lives, it would change everything. Imagine the radiant glory of a million blazing suns shining through every smile and changing our countenance because we are the race “Immanuel,” chose.

God became one of us, and we are the sons and daughters of a heavenly race being transformed and restored moment by moment into the image of God. Perfect love embraces us face to face and Paradise is present all around, and we live forever in the promise of His presence. (Contemplation: Seeing the World through God’s Eyes)
