I am giving up selfies for Lent.   Don’t get me wrong. I love taking pictures. And usually, I am all for selfies. Selfies are not bad in and of themselves. Watch this video to see how selfies are more than what people think. But for Lent, I am not gonna take any selfies and I’m changing all my profile pictures so that you don’t see my face.   I bet you’re wondering why am I giving up selfies and... Read more

So guess whose cable provider had The Last Five Years available on-demand? Yep, this girl’s! I spent the better part of my Friday night watching The Last Five Years twice. (I was given a 2-day rental and wanted to watch it as many times as possible.) I wasn’t sure how they were going to do the high-concept play given the anachronistic order of the songs. But from what I heard, this movie was made for the theater fans first. It’s clear that they had... Read more

You know that line from Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” that goes “Got a long list of ex-lovers, they’ll tell you I’m insane?” I can’t help but think of that line and applying it to my own life. Although I’ve dived into my perspectives on past relationships on this blog, I learned just as much, if not more, from the many crushes I had growing up.   I had my first crush around the time I went through the hell they... Read more

SPOILER WARNING. It’s one of those days where I wish I had iTunes. The Last Five Years is sadly not showing in my area and while the movie is available online, it’s only available on iTunes. Yes, I am Team Android but sometimes, that has its drawbacks. Don’t worry, readers, I’m planning to review the movie as soon as it comes out on DVD. Dear Leah Libresco, please review the movie for me! Anyway, I never saw the original play when... Read more

So this week isn’t only just the week leading up to Valentine’s Day. It’s also Random Acts of Kindness Week. There are a lot of ideas on the Random Acts of Kindness website but I thought about some places you can go to, people you can spend time with, and prayers to pray. Yes, prayers are acts of kindness too. So instead of spending Valentine’s Day, or heck, any day this week, complaining or crying over some kind of relationship problem, take... Read more

Instead of what you may ask? Instead of seeing or reading Fifty Shades of Grey. For the love of all that is good and holy, do not go out to see Fifty Shades of Grey. Don’t even read the book or its sequels. Both of them are different forms of soft-core porn that promotes domestic abuse and violence in relationships. So here are 50 things you can do for Valentine’s Day instead, whether you are single or in a relationship.   10 Movies... Read more

The beginning of February brings on many mixed emotions throughout the American population as Valentine’s Day gets closer and closer. Hallmark Channel is doing a Countdown to Valentine’s Day, three movies targeted towards couples are being released on that day, and people are sent into a frantic frenzy of frivolous freak-outs. The people in relationships worry about what kind of gift to get their significant other. The single people worry about dying alone and not having a date for February... Read more

I can happily say that Audrey Assad was the first artist I ever saw in concert. It was amazing to see her live during her Fortunate Fall tour. She recently posted on her social media that the short film that she and her husband created can now be viewed on Vimeo. I would do a commentary on said video, but I think it speaks for itself.   It’s only up for the week, so watch it while you can! Read more
