Do you ever really need to talk to someone, or need their help, but they just don’t make time for you? Or when they finally get back to you, it’s too late and they can’t help you anymore? They know you’re going through something, but they still don’t make time for you. Even if they’re not purposely ignoring you, you wish they would just put themselves in your shoes for once. But you’re just left waiting, and waiting… and waiting. Totally one-sided. You feel like a fool. You regret trusting that person to be there for you.
And then there’s Allah…
“So remember Me; I’ll remember you.” (2:152)
“Whenever My slaves ask about me, I’m near. I respond to the call of the one calling out, whenever he calls on Me.” (2:186)
“I am as my slave expects Me to be, and I’m with him whenever he remembers Me. If he thinks of Me, I think of him. If he mentions Me in company, I mention him in an even greater gathering. When he comes closer to Me by a handspan, I come closer to him an arm’s length. If he draws closer to Me by an arm’s length, I draw nearer to him by twice that distance. If my slave comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.” [Bukhari]
If you’re in need, expect from Him (swt). If you tend to get attached, attach yourself to Him. And if you ever have to make a choice, choose Him- over everyone and everything else. You’ll never regret it.
