Sherif and his father arrived

Sherif and his father arrived April 23, 2009

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah

Sherif and his father arrived safely from Egypt, alhamdulillah. They came in around ten at night. Jazaak Allah Khair to the Imaam for bringing them from the airport!

Abdallah, my father-in-law, looks okay. He has weakness from the stroke and he’s unsteady and his speech is a bit slurred, but he is not bedridden and his mind is okay, alhamdulillah. Sherif has three different BAGS of medicine for him, so the first order of business is to sort it all out and figure out what he actually needs, and what is just garbage. I’m going to look up everything online and then inshAllah hubby will talk with a doctor friend of his to see if we can get rid of a bunch of stuff. I think part of the reason for Abdallah’s mental fogginess before he came was that he was overmedicated. There is really a staggering amount of medicine on the counter now.

Sherif has been fussing over his father, going 8 different directions and trying to get back into work as well. I’m trying to gently direct him, but it’s not easy. Imagine trying to direct the course of a rubber ball bouncing around in a room with all hard walls.

Right now it’s kind of quiet. The kids are doing their thing, Giddoo is resting, I’m doing this. I’m sure the peace won’t last long, but I’ll enjoy it while I can.
