Paul, in Galatians 4:9, says:

Now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn bac k again to the weak and beggarly elemental spirits? How can you want to be enslaved by them again? You are observing special days, and months, and seasons, and years.

An unhealthy spirituality is one that depends on what can be seen and touched, what can be determined and controlled, what can be known and said. It manifests itself in slavish observance.

There is a freedom in living as though we are known and loved.
