the importance of happiness

This is a photograph of Lisa and me on our very first date. Here she is 18 and I am 20. This is me blowing my nose. I could make her laugh so hard every time because I can honk loudly with my nose. I love to make her laugh any way I can. I still make her laugh.

Did you know that #1 in the list of top 10 things women look for in a partner is “a sense of fun“. And #2 is “a sense of humor“. That’s above everything else, including appearance, sex and money, etc! We want to be happy.

So why is religion so serious? Even the most serious theologians concede that the chief end of humanity is joy.

Didn’t C. S. Lewis say that joy is a serious matter? So why do we take it so lightly?

Laugh a little.
