I am assembling my Sophia book. I’m calling it “The Liberation of Sophia”. Sophia means wisdom. The liberation of her wisdom has necessarily meant her liberation from the kind of religion that binds, oppresses and imprisons.
Sophia has a significant relationship with the moon. Moon is reflected light. It is not direct light. Leaving and even rejecting a religion that boasted direct light has meant that she has had to find her own light, discern new light from new sources in new places. She has gained a new appreciation for the moon because it doesn’t claim to be direct light. It humbly reflects it. But it is not light itself. She has a new appreciation for what it means to humbly acknowledge this.
She journeys through darkness. The darkness of night. Because it is safer for her. It is like the dark night of the soul. She’ll take whatever light is provided. And the moon does just fine.
Sophia feels herself emerging, being lifted up up up. Even soaring. Buoyant. Life used to press her down. Now she rises to it. Her freedom, her humble light… this is her food.
You can start your own journey too.
You can still acquire some original Sophias as well as all the Sophia prints.
