Some might say this is negative. But I believe that there is goodness in all of us.

Remove the dickness and the goodness will abound.

One of the cool things about our global community is we’re learning how to remove the dickness together.

    This is awesome. Love it

  • thanks chris

Put a big smile on my face 🙂

We are all dicks and cannot free ourselves. Christ’s power is perfected in my dickiness. Therefore I will boast about my dickiness, so that Christ’s power may rest in me.

  • You wouldn’t happen to be quoting a contemporary evangelical preacher?

  • 5 ways every blog is becoming like buzzfeed…

  • CurtisMSP

    No, a first-century evangelical preacher. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Either a misinterpretation of the scripture or of the meaning of the word “dick”

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9

This should have been up one level. It won’t let me delete and say it in the proper place.

  • “When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.”
“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master— that’s all.”

  • This really deserves a snarky dick joke in response. But I’m trying to avoid being (seen as) a smart-arse.

  • Here, Jesus quotes Wheaton’s Law…

  • CurtisMSP

Being a dick is a weakness. If Paul were alive today, I’m sure he would use a more colorful word in the vernacular than “weakness”. “dick” works.

The difference between between a dick full of grace, and say, Mark Driscoll, who is just a plain dick, is that a dick full of grace will admit they are a dick. They will “boast” about. While Diriscoll is a dick but will never admit it. If Driscoll were to announce “Hey, I am a dick, God is working in me, but I am a dick. I apologize. I will keep preaching, because that is what God has called me to do, to be a dick for Christ, but I am a dick. Please stop sending all of your money to me and pay the rent for the homeless guy across the street instead” But Driscoll would never say that. Which makes him a plain dick, rather than a dick filled with the grace of God.

OMG so many verses to come up with using the word “dick” 😀

  • Andy

    So simple.

  • Mark

    Wouldn’t that blow people’s minds…

  • Tony Debono

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…to tell us that which is readily apparent, and to reiterate what people the world over had been proclaiming for millennia. Bravo 3:16

  • Tony Debono

Well now, isn’t THAT just adorable?!

  • If it includes the notion that standing by while other people are being dickish means that the stander-by is also being a dick by extension, I might by this. Because let’s face it, true justice and compassion requires more than not just being a dick yourself, but also doing something about the harm caused by others’ dickishness.

Except for the fact that Jesus also said, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that,“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’” (Mark 4:11-12), which is pretty much the epitome of dickishness. #jesusfail
