sculpture “recept”

This is a sculpture I did a while ago which is still in my possession. It is Brazilian soapstone on a walnut and brass bass. It’s about the size of an adult hand. It is called “recept“.

My heart has been full of emotion lately. So much so that sometimes I feel it is in danger of bursting. I’m feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I feel like I’ve been given another lease on life. I’ve been through an incredible inner ordeal for the past long while… truly a trial in the desert. But for some reason, mercy was shown to me, grace was extended, and I was awakened from my slumber, I was raised from my death. Without looking for it, asking for it, or even being aware that I needed it, I was given new life.

So I am thankful. Even for what it took to get here.
