cartoon: reality tv

There’s something kind of zen about watching yourself watching yourself watching yourself. But, as I’ve discovered, it can also become a personal nightmare. Inception gone mad! What’s a life lived vicariously? Empty and meaningless. Eugene Peterson once wrote that if you have a tv, you should slowly dismantle it with a sledgehammer. I wasn’t that drastic, but I don’t watch tv. I don’t even have cable. It’s nothing religious. I just want to live my life more directly and tv is a major distraction. Besides, I’ve got so much I could be doing… like drawing, painting, writing, and… more importantly… living with myself, being aware, and being present to my family and those I love. And serving you up a decent blog.
