I finally finished this piece. It is done with graphite pencil, ink and colored pencil on heavy cotton rag paper. It measures 8″x10″ (20cm x 25cm). I call this “includer”. I really don’t feel like commenting on it. It speaks to me for itself. I hope it does for you as well. Own the original drawing! Or buy a print of this cartoon. Read more

This is a photo of Lisa and me at our engagement party in 1979. Oh my God what a babe. And she’s gorgeous too! Today we celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. It’s been an incredible journey, and I love where we are. I have been thinking a lot today about spiritual transition and marriage. I was talking with someone recently who said that when one of the partners in a marriage goes through profound spiritual upheaval and transition, their marriage... Read more

It’s my anniversary today! 50% OFF on all my art! Today is Lisa’s and my 32nd anniversary! That’s right! Married to this beautiful person for 32 years. We’re proud of it. An incredible journey! I wrote this in her card today: I have to believe that even the bad times are swallowed up by the good, making our life together rich with a love that has been severely tested and proven. In celebration of our anniversary, I’m giving everyone a... Read more

I was surprised at myself while I was drawing this cartoon. I got rather emotional. Why? Because I didn’t make this up! All these words have been spoken to me. And when I thought about it, I could count on one hand the people who were actually interested in my intellectual and theological journey that got me to where I am. Most, however, see such a journey not as a progression but as a recession or a digression. Backsliding! And... Read more

I have no idea what this means… other than this: This character has two strikes against it: it’s a question, and it’s gay. Acquire the original drawing. Or buy a print of this cartoon. Read more

It might not be very glamorous. It might be as boring as hell. It might even get dirty. But when it comes down to the meaning of life, it might just boil down to love. Find someone to love. They’re everywhere! Get a print of this cartoon here. Read more

Animals chew their cud to make their food more and more digestible. The mind can be like this… constantly regurgitating the same old stuff over and over again to make it more digestible and easier to swallow. The mind loves and craves safety, comfort and security. It always prefers to resort to what it already knows. The challenge is to be transformed by the renewing of the mind. Our charter is to become a new creation. Questions are one of... Read more

Don’t lose your passion. If you do, find it. When you find it, keep it. Where’s the color your mind used to have? Why have your thoughts turned all black and white? Read more

I’m not arguing for what’s wrong or right, correct or incorrect, accurate or inaccurate, heretical or orthodox. What I’m arguing about is how unpleasantly dogmatic some people become. The people I hang out with now are not serious theologians by any means. But for the most part they are open, gracious and colourful. Tomorrow’s cartoon hits on this theme as well. Check it out in the a.m.! You can get a print of this cartoon HERE. Read more
