Book: The Invisible Man
by Ralph Ellison
I read this book in high school and revisited it last month. This book made an impression on me because although it was written in 1947, it speaks to situations that are eerily similar now in 2017. It amazes me that 70 years later the African-American community is still dealing with systemic racism and police murder today. Additionally, the books illustrate how the powers have plans and utilize people with different methods to do their bidding with them without neither paying attention to them being used. I suggest everyone read or reread this book because it helps one to reflect upon what they know as opposed to what they thought they knew.
