2. Start new small groups. If you want people to slide into small groups, whether that’s Sunday School or groups that meet outside of church, you have to provide an easy onramp for them to join. New people want to join new groups. You may have some existing groups that have open spots, but you would be mistaken if you thought that meant those groups were open. Most groups effectively become a closed group after a few short months. Guests feel incredibly awkward barging into a small group that has been meeting for two years. If you want to get guests into small groups, you have to have new small groups ready to launch.
