charlottesville-violence-a-lesson-that-world-should-not-ignore_1The nation is still reeling in shock after what happened at Charlottesville.  So are my wife and I.  The “shooter” who killed a woman and sent many more to the hospital with life-threatening injuries crashed his car onto the lawn of our youngest son’s neighbor.

What should we in the church do?  One thing we can do is to condemn in unequivocal terms racism and white supremacy.  So I was thankful that the historian Thomas Kidd at Baylor University asked me to sign a statement that he and a colleague were circulating earlier this week.  I encourage you to sign it too.
