How to Create the Perfect Star Wars Room

How to Create the Perfect Star Wars Room March 21, 2010

Boys Star Wars Room

My youngling LOVES Star Wars.  He sings John Williams’ score as he plays, knows every character, and even named our Beta fish after a planet (he’s red – thusly named Mustafar – aka Moose). After finishing my other son’s room, we had to keep our promise to our other boy to give him his dream room.  We used the left over mistinted paint from our other boys room for the top  color and purchased the bottom color (Valspar Asteroid) and the navy (Valspar La Fonda – giggling as I recall Napoleon Dynomite).  The orange – my son’s FAVORITE color had to be added throughout, so that is what Trent painstakingly did this week.

Trent first taped off the stripes in a random geometric pattern. Then we painted, removed the tape and fixed any orange that bled thru.

The two panoramic pictures have starry, space pics in them with added Star Wars ships as though you were looking thru a window.

Note the light panel as seen in the movie in the Jack and Jill Bath.

Trent hand stenciled the logos over each door and this one under the window.  We had the stencils from a Halloween pumpkin carving kit. Our boy loves it and we’re glad to finally be finished!

UPDATE: As he grew, we created a star wars bed of his dream that looked like it was hovering!
