Call for Stricter Regulations of Animal Abuse Content on Facebook
Although President Trump chose not to adopt a dog for the White House, banning animal abuse on Facebook Reels from overseas would be the right thing to do.
Animal abuse and torture from countries outside the United States should be banned. Over the past few years, videos depicting such abuse have flooded my social media feed.
It’s time Facebook ban these disturbing reels and videos. The people at Corporate Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg who allow this kind of content, especially those involving animals from overseas, are clearly doing so intentionally.
While some argue it’s a matter of “freedom of expression and speech,” that perspective is a gross misunderstanding of the issue at hand.
A significant amount of this disturbing content originates from Asia, the Middle East, and parts of South America. Allowing animal abuse from other countries to seep into the Social Media platforms has nothing to do with freedom of expression.
Even though all abuse videos on Facebook Reels are real, but a significant and disturbing amount of them represent real, violent acts. Nonetheless, these disturbing, very sad videos real or not can have a traumatic effect on both children and adults.
Please consider signing the petition to stop showing animal abuse on Facebook.
Disturbing instances of real ad fake animal rescues are being posted alongside horrific acts involving the killing, dismembering, and consumption of animals, including beloved pets like dogs. These animals are often thrown into cages, “hot pots,” hung upside down, and split open. These poor sweet animals are subjected to terrifying conditions.
In my view, the cultural or religious background of those engaged in these practices is irrelevant. Companies like Meta are facilitating the spread of this content, allowing individuals from various cultures and beliefs to share these unsettling videos widely.
