#3 – Play sport & exercise

Summer is extremely hot and humid in Japan, making outdoor activities a challenge. Autumn however is pleasantly cool, making it the perfect time for sports; the Japanese even have a national holiday in October, Taiiku no Hi, which is dedicated to health and sport. In Britain autumn isn’t so mild and it gets rainy, but there are some sports that are traditionally played in autumn (such as rugby). Playing sport can be a good way of getting some fresh air and exercise during the cold weather – being energetic keeps us warm! And if you’re not keen on sport, there’s plenty of other forms of exercise that might especially appeal to Pagans and other spiritually-inclined people, including yoga, martial arts, tai chi or going for a run or walk out in nature.
