Ben Dunson on Romans and Psychology

Ben Dunson on Romans and Psychology

*Short version: read my recent review here*

Ben Dunson (Ph.D., University of Durham) offers the academy and the church an outstanding book on the Apostle Paul’s native psychology: Individual and Community in Paul’s Letter to the Romans WUNT 2, Reihe 332 (Mohr Siebeck, 2012). I think you should read everything you can from Dunson. The Westminster Theological Journal has posted a recent article of his online: “Do Bible Words Have Meaning? Distinguishing Between Imputation as Word and DoctrineWTJ 75 (2013): 239-60. It is a breath of fresh air in a world of nebulous theological academia – historically, hermeneutically, and theologically, just a great read.

I digress: The Journal of Psychology and Theology has published my review of Dunson’s book, and if you’d like a brief synopsis of his proposed eight psychological types in the Apostle Paul’s thinking in Romans, check it out. It’s two pages. Short, informative, and might even pique your interest in a the often unexplored disciplinary intersection of psychology and theology.

Once again, you can read my review here.
