We live in a day where people are offended by speech, especially speech that isn’t politically correct, whether you are on the Progressive Left or the Conservative Right. But this sensitivity is now extending to speech that’s not “religiously correct.”
Preaching the gospel of salvation — in its present form — isn’t and will never be considered hate speech.
It’s too tame. “Receive Jesus into your heart, and you’ll go to heaven when you die” doesn’t topple kingdoms, send panic in the streets, or threaten rulers.
BUT … the gospel of the kingdom IS considered hate speech right now whenever and wherever it’s being properly preached. Not later, but today.
Don’t misunderstand. I’m NOT talking about all the hot-button political issues that the Conservative Right gets in a social-media frenzy over. Nor am I referring to the issues that the Progressive Left gets all worked up about.
NONE of those issues constitute the gospel of the kingdom.

“What’s the gospel of the kingdom, Frank?”
I’ve been heralding it since 2017 on this email list, the blog, our YouTube channel, in conferences, The Deeper Christian Life Network Master Classes, in my book Insurgence: Reclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom, as well as on The Insurgence Podcast.
All that to say: If you dare begin to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom on social media, be prepared to be accused of hate speech. Even by your fellow “Christians.”
Again, you won’t find that gospel talked about on CNN, Fox News, the Huff Post, or Conservative Talk Radio.
The political talking points and echo chambers of our time have very little to do with the gospel of the kingdom. For this reason, while the Insurgence continues to grow, it’s still relatively small compared to where most believers have chosen to place their passions.
