Yet Another Devotional

Yet Another Devotional May 11, 2015
So, I’m writing a book.
For weeks and months I’ve been thinking I ought to mention this Very Grand News but have had one huge insecurity. Well, obviously I’m totally insecure about everything, but this one overtook all the other ones.
What if, after announcing it on the interwebs, I then peter out and all the words go away. I am not officially superstitious, being a Christian and all, but I am unofficially so. I have been super anxious that I won’t actually be able to write it. And so I didn’t want to mention it at all.
Being that as it may, however, I broke the back of it, the book, last week, shooting past the half way mark, and so far the words haven’t gone anywhere, although a vast number of them are perfectly awful.
….but not all of them! Not all of them are awful. And by the time I’ve gone back over and over and over them, I think some of them might be sort of ok.
So anyway, the working title, hem, is 365 Sarcastic Devotionals for Angry or Worn Out People, and the publisher is Kalos Press. Kalos became known to me through Jessica Snell who organized the clever and helpful guide to celebrating the church year, Let Us Keep the Feast. And, since I’ve been haunting the website myself, I’ve sunk into intimidated wonder over how interesting and real the authors of Kalos are. That I should be counted among there number is, well, Matt keeps telling me to calm down because I can’t barely contain myself.
If you have time, check out their website.
And, pray the words don’t walk away from me. In my dreams and plans, which usually don’t pan out, I hope to be done writing by the beginning of June. If my posts here become more and more incoherent its because I’m trying to write and clean and cook at the same time because I can’t ever stop writing.
Me taking my life in my hands in the most freaking out kind of way possible.
