7 Speedy Takes

7 Speedy Takes

Oh my word, it’s Friday.

One

In spite of all my promises to be miserable, I had a very nice day yesterday, puttering around making tortillas, picking tomatoes, and shoving Sunday School Furniture around. A once a year trip to Wegmans is a pretty great birthday present. What did I buy there, you ask? A tub of kimchi, because the Korean restaurant is always closed whenever I have time to go there.

Two

Did spend a lot of the day wondering what the world would be like without any classical music. It was a strange and exhausting thought exercise. So many other things would never have come into being if there had never been any music in the west for all those centuries.

Three

And seriously, the meeting of musical genres is so interesting. Of course, nobody should try to erase one and supplant it with another. On the other hand, I feel like saying “of course” all the time is completely meaningless. There is no such thing as “of course.”

Four

Yesterday on Twitter I saw, with the hashtag Thursday Thoughts, My Religion Is Love. “Of Course,” I thought, “Of Course It Is.”

Five

You know who is really whiny? Bart Ehrman. I also spent part of the day working on my Bart Ehrman voice. It’s pretty great. I’m going to show it off on the podcast.

Six

Someone who purports to be my friend gave me the Passion Bible as a birthday present. Here’s my favorite bit so far:

Jesus taught his disciples, saying, “Listen to me. Never let anxiety enter your hearts. Never worry about any of your needs, such as food or clothing. For your live is infinitely more than just food or the clothing you wear. Take the carefree birds for example. Do you ever see them worry? They don’t grow their own food or put it in a storehouse for later.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

This is going to be a great great year.

Seven

Go check out more takes! And have a nice weekend if you feel like it.
