The End of Birthday Season

The End of Birthday Season

My goodness it is hard to wake up any more. I am a deep hater of day light savings time but maybe it won’t be such a terrible thing right now. I can just reserve my rage for when we lose the hour later on.

Marigold had a happy birthday, as far as I can tell. Everyone was crashing around so that I was really in the way of losing my mind. Alouicious came at the end of the day with tears in his eyes and begged that we go out right then and buy him something to climb or jump on, like a Trampline. Told him to go climb trees with his sister but he insisted that wouldn’t work because he would be hit in the face by the branches when he jumped off. Going to plug the treadmill in for him today. It’s going to be a long long winter.

Gladys, for some nepharious reason, came up and made my bed towards the evening. It sounds sweet but I know it’s because she either wants money or to do something I hate them doing, like sleeping all of them in one bed. She was too calculating about it for me to be perfectly comfortable.

Then, at bed time there was the usual brawl about who is positioned where to hear the one measly bedtime story that I’m willing to read. In this case a story from Marigold’s big fat Beatrix Potter book that she got as a present. But it was ten o’clock and I picked a story that was too long and so finally, after pages and pages, Marigold sat up and wished we could stop reading so she could go to bed.

All in all, the usual birthday.

So today we’ll get into school work and try to get outside so that we don’t die of being cooped up. Maybe we shoud just break down and go to the library even though it isn’t our day.
