Will I ever find my true soulmate?

Meet Zipei. She found her true soulmate.

I recently received an email from a delightful and energetic student. Zipei  came from the Peoples Republic of China to Berkeley to study Hindu spirituality along with philosophy and science. In her email, she announced she’d just gotten married. More importantly, she’d married her true soulmate. Here’s what Zipei said (she provided permission for me to repeat this).

“I got married last month! I met my partner Nick while living in the Sri Aurobindo ashram.  We share a multitude of spiritual and earthly common grounds to the extent that I felt he’s my long-lost identical twin. We moved out of the ashram before our micro-wedding at Lake Tahoe on May 6th and are starting a new life together living full-time on the road. We’ve got a truck with a camper on top, making it a tiny home which does come with satellite wifi so we can stay connected and do remote works. The purpose of this lifestyle is mostly to be more in touch with the natural world, which I have always found deeply inspiring, and through that I aspire to deepen my relationship with the Divine.”

Nick, the lucky new husband, is Zipei’s “long-lost identical twin.” What a compliment! That’s what it means to be a soulmate, I bet.

More than identity defines a true soulmate. Zipei and Nick are not merely alike. They both want to “deepen” their “relationship with the Divine.” We share our souls with our self, our soulmate, and with God.

Can I find my true soulmate on TikTok?

Will I ever find my true soulmate?

TikTok’s Moon Soulmate service begins by identifying the phase of the moon when you were born. There are eight phases. So, your birth matches one. When you find that right someone whose moon phase fits perfectly with yours to form a full moon, whoa! This is your soulmate.

Now, let’s think about this. There are eight phases to the moon. That means there are nearly a billion people on Earth who could be your soulmate. Do you like these odds?

What will my true soulmate be like?

Here’s what Seventeen says we should look forward to.

“Soulmates — both romantic and platonic — should make you feel loved, secure, and wholly understood. You not only feel deeply connected to a romantic soulmate but also a true sense of passion and chemistry.”

Try this Brainfall definition on for size.

“A soulmate is someone you can connect with on a deep level and potentially share your life with. It’s a person who knows you better than anyone else on the planet. And for some people, it can take a lifetime to find a soulmate and make a relationship official.”

“Will I ever find my true soulmate?” Ziepei answers in the affirmative. Zipei found Nick.
