The American Academy of Religion just offered a well-attended and fascinating panel on "The Threat of Christian Nationalism" to democracy. Survey data was interpreted to support the thesis that America's evangelical Christians tout white supremecy. Frankly, I don't think the data supports this thesis. I suspect that my progressive Christian friends are covering up their scapegoating of evangelicals. What do you think? Read more
