The JP2 Inter-Faith Film Festival Is Coming to Town!

I am so glad that I am in New England for the fall weather.

I loved Miami but fall in the tropics did not work for me.

Somehow pumpkins and palm trees just don’t go together.

So, I am glad to be back in the north, for now, where I can take artsy fall pictures on my walks:

Of course, now I am a little ambivalent because I found out that the JP2 Inter-faith Film Festival is going on in Miami and I am wishing I could see some palm trees, at least for a few  days.

Especially because the film that one of our sisters, Sr. Helena Burns, wrote and directed will be showing.

The film is called Media Apostle: The Father James Alberione Story and it is about the founder of the Daughters of St. Paul, Blessed James Alberione.

Alberione was truly a person ablaze. Way ahead of his time, this little Italian priest insisted that the Church needed to move away from censorship and instead enter the media world.

He once said:

We need to put down the scissors of censorship and pick up the camera and microphone. We need to speak in the language of our own time… because God is so beautiful.

If you are interested in seeing this amazing movie. Media Apostle is showing October 17, 12:15pm at Cinepolis–Coconut Grove, 3015 Grand Ave. Miami, FL 33133.

If you are in Miami, you can buy tickets here.

Or, if you are not in Miami, never fear.

You can buy this film on DVD and you can also stream it online for only $2.99.

Now, that is a good deal.
