haiku – au naturale

haiku – au naturale 2014-08-22T15:56:46-05:00

watch your dirty mind
it’s not THAT kind of nature
children read this blog!!!!

seedlings peeking out
stretching toward the sunlight
tiny leaves unfurl

springtime work and rain
bring about minuscule plants
aching to grow tall

spinach, carrots, beans
planted neatly in their rows
slumber in the soil

weeds pulled up
fertilizer spread around
the work of small hands

excited farmers
shout with glee over their crops
thrilled to see a beet
