#3 left yesterday for his turn at his grandparents’ house. Our house without its resident superhero? With no one jumping off of the furniture or building fantastic castles in the classroom? A little boring.

My sweet mother in law saw my purple striped hair yesterday. She hated it. Loves me. Hates my hair. If one of her sons was going to end up with a girl with wild hair, she always thought it would be the one who is a drummer in a death metal band not the lovably nerdy Computer Guy.
The Computer Guy thinks it’s hot.

#1 starts her first job today. Her cousin owns a silk-screening and embroidery shop and has offered my artistic child a chance to learn graphic design and production. She’ll be working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She can’t wait to make a little money and is thrilled with the notion that her hobby could become a career some day. Who says this new generation is lazy?

Our neighborhood pool was damaged in the floods earlier this week. We miss swimming every day. A pool at the house or in the neighborhood will be a “must have” when we move to Dallas. I can’t imagine summer without a pool to exhaust the children.

We survived the floods. Thank you for all of the emails asking after my family’s welfare. We’re soggy but good. My readers rock!
