Enough!!!!

Enough!!!! 2014-08-22T15:47:28-05:00

I’ve reached the point in my life where I officially hate Legos.

I used to think they were this great creativity toy. Then I decided that they were great for teaching developing brains how to engineer things and make them happen. They taught my children math, geometry, creative thinking, etc. I just knew my kids were benefiting from their near constant play with Legos.

My love affair has waned as I’ve stepped on them (ouch!), vacuumed them up, found them in every corner of my household, and fished them out of little kids’ mouths.

I now see them for what they are – the devil’s playthings. They are my constant irritation. I can spend an entire day picking the darn things up (as I did yesterday) and still find them in random places throughout the house (there’s one on the desk next to me and another under my desk at this very moment.)

I hate them. They’re no longer cool or fun. They’re a pain in my feet.

Which is why I’ve banished them from my house until the end of July at a minimum. I’m thinking about adding August to the banishment.

Ack! There’s another one across the room. How could I have missed so many? It’s because they are everywhere.

I’m done. I’m crying ENOUGH!!!! No more Legos until school starts. (That’s totally reasonable..right?)

For anyone who wants to build things, we have paper, glue, sticks, wood in the garage, tons of glitter (I’m sure they can use that for something), and about a million Barbie shoes.

Which reminds me… Barbie shoes aren’t too high on my favorites list either. It’s summertime in Texas. Barbie and friends can just go barefoot like the rest of us. And there’s nothing to fear because the Legos are all locked up safely in the attic.

Ouch!

Except for that one….

sigh
