All Grown Up

Two weeks ago, I took my eldest daughter to San Antonio to have her Senior pictures done by a dear friend who happens to be a brilliant photographer. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that my little baby is all grown up and will soon be off to college. When I look at her I mostly still see the goofy kid I love.

This is the girl I see. The little girl, the funny girl….my baby.

It’s funny how easy it is for me to forget that the little girl in the Irish dancing wig has grown up. Her girlishness has been replaced by a mature self-confidence. She is no longer a girl, but is quickly becoming a woman.

She looks like someone I’d hang out with and have coffee. There’s no way that that’s my baby.

Then I found the out-takes and I saw that my goofy kid was still there after all.

They’re all pretty, but I think this is my favorite.

The perfect black cocktail dress and red sneakers….that about sums her up. Poised and silly in one remarkable mix. I’m sad to see her school days ending, but I’m excited to see where she’s going from here.
