Guess who got Confirmed this Saturday
This Guy!!!!!!
After two years of studying and prayer, our eldest son was Confirmed in the Catholic Church taking the name Denis after St Denis of Paris. He reasoned that a saint who not even death could silence was a good choice for a guy with a lot to say. All. The. Time.
His Opa came down from Oklahoma City to be his sponsor. I watched the two of them together, grandfather and grandson, and was again thankful for having been graced to have such an amazing person in the life of our family. (Oma’s pretty great too. No mistaking it.)
Our tiny baby, only 3 lbs 1 oz at birth….. the one Baptized in the NICU out of a styrofoam cup….the child whose struggle for life brought me to faith…and here he is accepting the call of Christ and His Church, making his faith his own. He has been anticipating this day for months (years really), eager to stand before God and everyone and declare publicly what he believes. I watched his face as his forehead was anointed, and he glowed.
His father and I are so proud of the strong Catholic man that we see him becoming, and the one that he already is. God bless our beloved son…Denis…and keep him in His loving care.
Here are some more pictures of the day:

p.s. His tie is a real one, not a pre-tied one. I learned how to tie it so that I could teach him. One more impressive skill on my resume! lol ….it’s not really that impressive.
