Ella turned ten on Saturday with a quiet birthday celebration with her best friend. The half-dozen girls she had planned on when she first started talking birthday in March would have been exhausting to her now.
Instead, we picked up her bestie and her mom on Satuday morning and headed to the mall for lunch, makeovers, and a movie.
The girls were thrilled with purple eye shadow and actually being allowed to wear mascara! (That was really what thrilled them…mascara.)
See those long lashes?
After that it was Maleficent (which we LOVED!!!) and dinner with family and friends.
Sunday afternoon, we went and picked up her new wheelchair and said a prayer of thanksgiving for all of the people who so generously donated money so that she could get out of that yucky rental. Today we took it to the local auto body shop where he promised to paint it any way she wanted free of charge. (She wants royal blue like the Tardis.)
All in all, it was a quiet but joyful celebration of our sweet girl, and a swell of gratitude for the people in our lives.
Thank you all for sticking with us on this journey.
