I love a bargain. Have I shared that with you before? I’m frugal like a maniac. That’s how we can afford the family that we have. I used to look at big families and wonder how they could afford to dress the whole big gang, especially when I just wanted them to look cute.

Today I went to the local consignment sale on the last day. Things today were 75% off. I made out like a bandit. Two summer wardrobes for the baby, one in size 18 months and the other 24 months, because who knows how big she’ll be in August, half a wardrobe for #6, 4 outfits for #5, 5 outfits and a church dress for #4, and a t-shirt for each of the big boys.

The grand total? Less than $70.

And are the clothes cute? You tell me:

pants and shirt $.75

Gymboree outfit new with the tags still on $1.15
Transformer shirt and denim shorts $.50 for the set
pink and black dress that makes her laugh $1.00 and a bit of strap shortening by mom
watermelon dress $.25

giraffe dress $.75

Lady bug outfit $1.15
being chased by the baby in the lady bug outfit – Free
About half the clothes for #7

In case you’ve ever wondered, that’s how I do it.  Thrift stores in the good part of town, and consignment sales on the very last day.

I was so far under budget, that I was able to splurge and pick up

A Barbie house with furniture for #4 in perfect condition
