Happy Annifathersversary Day

I had this long list in my head of the things I wanted to write about our anniversary and Father’s Day, but they all boil down to this – there are times when our life together has seemed simple and light, and then there are the times like now.

In 18 years, I’ve learned that the good times don’t last forever and that the awful times sometimes carry with them unimaginable beauty. It’s not about whether it’s easy or it’s hard, it all comes down to who’s next to you and holding your hand along the way.

I’m very fortunate that it’s been this guy for all the celebrations, the challenges, the silliness, the seriousness, the painful hard choices, and the times that were easy.

Here’s hoping that year 19 is a little less exciting that the past two have been. I’m about ready for some of that simple…..what d’ya say?

Happy Annifathersversary Day, my dear. I can’t wait to see what this next year brings! (unless it looks like the past six months. If it does, wanna run away with me to the beach?)
