Ralph Fiennes (“Harry Potter,” “Schindler’s List”) stars as Cardinal Lawrence navigating a deep mystery during the selection of a new Pope in “Conclave.” The film, which releases Oct. 25 is directed by Academy Award-winning director Edward Berger (“All Quiet on the Western Front”) and also stars Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Lucian Msamati, Brían F. O’Byrne, Carlos Diehz, Merab Ninidze, Thomas Loibl with Sergio Castellitto and Isabella Rossellini.

The new trailer, which released today, shows the drama and mystery during the conclave, as ambitious men vie for the spot of the “most famous man in the world.” Secluded from the outside, the bishops only have each other and seem to not know who to trust. Berger has staged some stunning shots, as evidenced in the preview, and viewers also get a glimpse of the all-star cast, including Lithgow and Tucci. Rosellini appears as a nun who breaks out of her position of being seen and not heard.

Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope. Once the Catholic Church’s most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence uncovers a trail of deep secrets left in the dead Pope’s wake, secrets which could shake the foundations of the Church.
