Neon has released a new trailer for “The Life of Chuck,” a new film based on a novella by bestselling author Stephen King. More in line with King’s character-driven stories such as “The Shawshank Redemption” and “The Green Mile” than his horror classics, the film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tom Hiddleston, Annalise Basso, Jacob Tremblay, Matthew Lillard, Benjamin Pajak, and Mark Hamill and written and directed by Mike Flanagan (“Doctor Sleep,” “The Fall of the House of Usher”).

The preview shows glimpses of Hiddleston’s titular character in various ages as well as Ejiofor, Tremblay, Lillard, and Hamill, teasing the life-spanning narrative. “If you have heart, you have hope,” Mark Hamill’s character tells a young Chuck. “And you have heart in you.” Another character says, “Every year that you live, that world will get bigger and brighter. And more detailed and complex.”
